The Present

In this moment. Right now.

 Exhale.

Stop moving. Stop planning. Stop over-thinking.

Pause.

Present (Now)

Push everything else out of your mind except for the place you’re at in this present moment.

What about this moment gives you joy? Find something. For me, right now, it’s early morning fog before what will be a warm day. My window is open, and for now, the air is cool and fresh. It’s blissfully quiet except for the birds and an occasional car going by.

What is it for you?

Present (Gift)

I take this pause to be grateful for this present moment – present, the gift. And I calm myself for the moment. It will pass soon enough. I hoard these moments to steel myself for all the others that pull me away.

A few more breaths. Steady.
